Jewellery care

Simple habits to keep your diamonds sparkling for a lifetime.

Everyday wear

  • Put jewellery on last — after perfume, hairspray, lotion and make-up.
  • Remove pieces before swimming, bathing, cleaning, gardening or going to the gym.
  • Avoid contact with chlorine and household chemicals, which can affect metal finishes.

Cleaning at home

  1. Soak in warm water with a few drops of mild washing-up liquid for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Gently brush behind the stones with a soft baby toothbrush, where oils and dust collect.
  3. Rinse in clean warm water (with the plug in!) and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

Storage

  • Store each piece separately in its Aureel box or a soft pouch — diamonds can scratch other jewellery and each other.
  • Fasten necklace and bracelet clasps before storing to prevent tangling.

Metal-specific care

MetalCare note
White GoldRhodium plating gives white gold its bright finish and may need re-plating every 1–2 years with regular wear.
Yellow & Rose GoldPolish with a soft jewellery cloth to restore lustre.
PlatinumNaturally white and durable; develops a soft patina over time that can be polished away.

Annual check

We recommend having claw settings and clasps checked once a year — especially for rings and tennis bracelets worn daily. Contact us to arrange an inspection.
